Dennis Markusson was a founding partner of Markusson Green & Jarvis. He served as national counsel for the defense of a national corporation’s asbestos litigation until 2014. He continues to works with clients on asbestos issues, litigation, and factors affecting insurance coverage, including reinsurance. Dennis practices in the areas of products liability, toxic torts, commercial litigation, and contract law. Dennis is also a respected expert in asbestos-related issues.
Prior to forming MGJ, Dennis directed Johns Manville Corporation’s asbestos litigation group. He was responsible for the direction and coordination of Johns Manville’s asbestos litigation throughout the United States. He served as Assistant General Counsel and Vice President of Johns Manville Sales Corporation. Additionally, he was responsible for the company’s litigation within the Unites States OSHA-related matters, and was one of Johns Manville’s lead counsel in its Chapter 11 re-organization.
Dennis was also a partner in the Akron, Ohio firm of Weick & Genovese, and he served as assistant counsel to General Tire & Rubber CO.
Dennis is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Ohio, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and for the Northern District of Ohio, United States Sixth, Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Claims Court.
His professional affiliations include the American Bar Association Litigation and Tort and Insurance Sections, the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association (CDLA), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Denver Bar Association and the International Association of Defense Counsel and IADC’s Toxic Torts Committee.
