Elliott Bruce Bender is the founder of Bender Law Group, a Richmond law firm serving clients throughout Virginia in the areas of criminal law and traffic defense, family law, civil litigation and personal injury. An experienced courtroom lawyer, Mr. Bender prepares every case as if it were headed to trial. He settles cases when the offer is in his clients’ best interest but is always ready to fully litigate the matter in court if that’s what it takes to get the best result for his client.

 

A native of Richmond, Mr. Bender received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Radford University. His J.D. law degree was earned from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College in New York, where he was an Associate Editor of the Touro International Law Review. As part of his law school studies, Mr. Bender spent a summer at the Moscow State University Law School in Russia where he studied International Law. His legal internships included working for the Honorable Francis X. Altimari of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, and for the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

 

Mr. Bender is admitted to practice in all courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as courts in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. He is additionally admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Bender is a member of the Richmond Criminal Bar, Henrico County Bar Association, Chesterfield County Bar Association, Virginia Association of Criminal Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
