Paul Angello is senior counsel to the firm and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Paul concentrates on patent prosecution and litigation matters. He has participated as patent counsel in patent infringement lawsuits involving holographic optics in aircraft head-up displays, optical-based blood analysis instruments, optical-based water quality detection instruments, liquid crystal displays, diagnostic method of determining viable heart tissue, machine vision for food inspection, and home and commercial facility security devices. Paul has secured for clients hundreds of patents on inventions relating to numerous technical disciplines, including electron devices, electronic circuitry, semiconductor wafer fabrication, electro-optical systems, lasers, liquid crystal devices and display systems, holographic devices and display systems, optical processing apparatus, robotic equipment, and medical diagnostic methods.
Paul joined Stoel Rives in 1985 and founded and built the firm’s patent practice, which has grown to 30 registered patent practitioners working in offices in three states (Oregon, Utah, and Washington).
