She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Collin County Bar Association. With a strong litigation background, compassionate advocacy, and a thoughtful, client-focused approach, Vanita helps clients navigate divorce, child custody disputes, modifications, enforcement matters, and other Texas family law issues with confidence and clarity.

Vanita grew up in Toronto, Canada, where she attended high school and college before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies. She began her legal career working for the Crown Attorney’s Office in Ontario, gaining valuable experience in the legal system before pursuing law school in the United States.

In 2012, Vanita attended law school in Arizona and earned her Juris Doctor in 2015. During law school, she served as a staff editor for the Law Review and participated in several legal clinics, including clinics dedicated to assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in Phoenix and members of the Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

After law school, Vanita and her husband moved to Texas, where she earned her Master of Laws in Taxation from Southern Methodist University in 2017. Her additional education gives her a unique perspective in family law cases involving complex property issues, financial questions, and long-term planning.

Vanita has litigated family law matters in district courts throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She has also handled matters before the Fifth Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the Supreme Court of Texas. Her courtroom experience, attention to detail, and steady approach make her a valuable advocate for clients facing difficult family law issues.

Before joining Burrows Law Group, Vanita spent seven years working with TMWF, a nonprofit organization committed to assisting survivors of domestic abuse in family law matters. That experience strengthened her dedication to helping individuals and families during vulnerable and life-changing seasons.

At Burrows Law Group, Vanita brings her litigation experience, diverse legal background, and genuine care for people to each client she serves. She is committed to helping clients understand their options, protect their rights, and move forward with confidence.

Vanita lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with her husband and two sons. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, watching Japanese anime, and learning about ancient civilizations through documentaries.
