Nashville attorney Zach Scott Gainous was born in Tallahassee, Florida.  As a kid, Zach spent his free time practicing or playing guitar, learning computer programming and tinkering with computers, watching Florida State football, or with his nose buried in the liner notes of his favorite CDs reading about the music companies and people involved.

After graduating high school and completing his first  two years of undergraduate education, Zach moved to Nashville to pursue his bachelor's degree at Middle Tennessee State University.  Zach attended MTSU's College of Media & Entertainment and studied in the Recording Industry program where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Business.  While attending MTSU, Zach completed courses in artist management, music publishing, music production, concert promotion & touring, record label marketing, record label operations, A&R, copyright law, music business contracts and legal issues, and more.  During his studies at MTSU, Zach also began working as an independent producer and studio guitarist and musician in Nashville.

After completing his studies at MTSU, Zach went on to intern and work for Universal Music Group Nashville.  While at UMG Nashville, Zach helped to develop and market the music, albums, and careers of Billy Currington, Sugarland, George Strait, Josh Turner, David Nail, and others.  In addition, Zach continued his work as an independent studio musician and record producer, working on unsigned and independent artist's projects, albums, and songwriter demos.

After leaving Universal, Zach continued to work to help and advise many upcoming and independent music artists.  Seeing the poor advice and representation many music artists and bands received from their attorneys and managers, Zach decided to attend law school in the evenings at the Nashville School of Law.  At Nashville School of Law, Zach completed courses in contract law, entertainment law, intellectual property, business law, civil litigation, and much more.  While in law school, Zach also worked at Blue Sky Group, a Nashville business management firm for clients in music, entertainment, and sports.  At Blue Sky Group, Zach assisted with contract summaries and interpretation, financial and royalty audits for songwriters, producers, and music artists, and reconciling royalty statements, gaining further valuable insight, experience, and perspective on the financial, legal, and business side of the entertainment and sports industries.

After completing law school, Zach sought out to launch his own firm where he could provide valuable advice, expertise, and representation to clients.  The firm provides legal and advice and representation to creative and talented individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs, companies, and businesses, including those in music, entertainment, and sports, as well as personal and career talent management services, advice, and representation to music artists and bands, actors, actresses, entertainers, and pro athletes and sports stars.  As managing attorney, principal talent manager, and founder of The Fruitful Firm, Zach brings a unique set of experience, knowledge, and skills that provide value to the clients of The Fruitful Firm.  When not busy working, Zach can be found watching FSU football in the fall, watching or attending Titans or Nashville Predators games, or grilling out and relaxing at home with his wife and dog.
